Plymouth Notch — July 4 – President Calvin Coolidge Birthday Celebration
Commemorate the birthday of the only president born on Independence Day at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site. At noon, march with members of the VT National Guard from the village green to the cemetery where a wreath from the White House is laid at the President’s gravesite. A chicken barbecue follows at the Wilder Restaurant; the day concludes with a special musical performance and/or historical program at the Union Christian Church. Woodstock – July 4th – Billings Farm & Museum – A family celebration of a 19th century July 4th. Featuring the reading of the Declaration of Independence at noon, historic debates, making 1890 flags, Presidential silhouettes, and Uncle Sam book marks. Horse-drawn wagon rides, spelling bee, ice cream making and the egg toss. Activities begin at 10:30 a.m.
