March is just around the corner and the Maple sugaring process will be starting soon. I recommend a visit to Sugarbush Farm just outside of Woodstock in Taftsville (www.sugarbushfarm.com) . They have an educational display of their sugaring process – including a visit to their sugar house – the horses that pull the sugaring wagon are there for the kids and they have a tasting room where you can sample the different grades of maple syrup as well as the cheeses made at the farm. Naturally there is also a shop for purchasing many different Vermont products. You can visit anytime but note that Mar. 26-28 is Maple Open House Weekend with lots of special activities. A few notices of activities for March and April have been trickling in – they’re listed below. Check back often for updates.
