Experience Real Vermont – visit Sugarbush Farm, Taftsville, which offers detailed information/demos on maple sugaring, a cheese shop and sampling room for cheese and maple syrup, educational displays and of course, a gift shop full of Vermont specialties. They offer sleigh rides in the Winter behind those big draft horses that do double duty during sugaring season (typically March timeframe). During foliage season the drive to their farm across the Taftsville covered bridge offers some of the prettiest views of Vermont’s colorful leaves. Feb. 5 – Hartland, VT – The Tiki Torch Trek – 5-7pm 3 km cross-country ski trails across from the Fire Station are adorned with lighted Tiki Torches and Lanterns with music, bonfire and food from local establishments. Cross-country ski, snowshoe and for this special event only you can even just walk the trails.
